As a choreographer

A strong believer in classical tradition Lekha’a creative approach has given a new dimension to her traditional foundation. Blending the form and content in an aesthetic manner, her works are traditional yet contemporary keeping in focus the contemporary awareness. Besides choreographing traditional items, she has been working on conceptualizing and choreographing innovative themes and discovers methods to keep the art alive and reach it to the younger generation in the right perspective.

She has choreographed dance numbers such as "Parikrama", "Swagatam 'Krishna", "Sari Bandane", "Gayati Vanamali", “Bhavayana” which have been appreciated as imaginative and creative. "Parikrama, The circle of Life" which was presented before the governor of Karnataka Smt. C. Ramadevi on the occasion of the 50th year of Indian Independence, was acclaimed as a novel creation by critics and audience.

“Parikrama - The circle of life” – Explores India through time An innovative concept that has an interlude of Hindi Poetry, Modern Music, dialogues with traditional classical dance.

Bhavayana – Dancing to the tunes of Bhavagatha, this presentation is a complete margam with a difference, Classical dance tuned to Kannada Poetry of well known and renowned Kannada Poets.

Swagatham Krishna – An attempt to bring the two different genre of music and dance. A classical bharatanatyam dance to Sanskrit lyrics set to a western tune.

Krishnam Kalaya sakhi – A margam dedicated to lord Krishna depicting the various facets of the great lord.

Devi Pranamamyaham – A soulful presentation that potrays the glorious devi – an embodiment of creative feminine force compassion. A mother, wife, daughter – all facts of a women.
